Rob Mitchell

Prior to co-founding Dixon Mitchell, Rob served as Vice President and Chief Investment Officer of a national life insurance firm, where he lead a diverse investment team and directed the company’s portfolio of equities, bonds, mortgages and directly-held real estate. In addition to providing extensive experience in portfolio management, this role allowed Rob to develop particular expertise in risk management and investment policy development.
At Dixon Mitchell, Rob assists individuals, families, charitable organizations, and institutional clients to identify their investment objectives and formulate comprehensive plans for achieving their financial goals. He also acts as Chair of Dixon Mitchell’s Investment Committee, coordinating the efforts of the firm’s analytical team with the structure and risk management parameters of each portfolio mandate.
Rob is a director of Discovery Trust, a non-profit organization that fosters technological development in British Columbia, and past president of the Chartered Financial Analyst Society of Vancouver.
